Hello, welcome to my website of old porjects I did for clients back in 2010-2013. These sites were primarily created in Adobe Dreamwever. That was the main platform for development I learned and used while earning my degree in web publishing from American Military University.

New: I took one of these sites — the BF News site from 2012 — and rebuilt it in TypeScript and Tailwind with live news, then built a protocol droid that walks you through exactly what changed and why. Launch the Protocol Droid demo, or read about it just below.

The BF News site listed in the menu is exactly as I built it in Dreamweaver in 2012: XHTML Transitional, a 1000px fixed canvas, three float columns cleared by hand, no viewport tag, and editable regions belonging to a content service that shut down years ago. It is honest historical work — and it is unreadable on a phone.

So I rebuilt it in TypeScript and Tailwind, mobile-first, with live articles from free news APIs. Then I added NB-3O, a protocol droid that does the explaining for me. A protocol droid translates between vocabularies, and this one translates in two directions at once.

It explains the modernization. Open the droid and it holds 16 findings from an audit of the original files. Each one shows what the 2012 build did, which file it lived in, what replaced it, where the replacement lives, and why the change was worth making. Filter them by area — layout, accessibility, analytics — or have the droid overlay the old 1000px canvas on the live page and tell you how far it overflows your screen right now.

It translates the news wire. Every story on the page arrives through the droid, which turns five different APIs into one shape the site understands. Switch sources and watch the paper re-render with completely different content and an identical layout. Ask it for Obituaries from a source that has no obituaries desk and it rewrites the request as a keyword search — and says so, rather than pretending. The log shows every handshake, translation, cache hit and fallback as it happens. None of it is scripted.

It needs no API key, so you can just open it.
